[ via Scripting.com ] Jim Moore (here's his blog, here's his bio) shares his ideas for next generation blogging tools.  I'm on board with all but one -- changing the name of "blog". I think we're too far along; the term is just entering the mainstream, and I think changing the name now would simply lead to more confusion. I don't think the "blog" coinage ("blog" was shortened from "weblog") is any more strange or off-putting than the way we derived "fridge" from "refigerator", and it's certainly less off-putting than "fax" or "Xerox".
