This afternoon, my employer, Tucows Inc., announced that it purchased Blogrolling.com, the blog link list (or "blogroll") management service. Blogrolling.com simplifies the maintenance of your blogrolls with a one-click step to add a new blog, points out the most-recently updated blogs on your blogroll and lets you see who's linking to you.

Says my Boss Ross:

The service isn't going anywhere and we're not turning into some "Blogware only" proprietary mess. The Tucows ZenKeepers would take away my spots if I tried to do that (or let that happen). We're looking to go in exactly the opposite direction. My goal is to  make Blogrolling.com even more useful to webloggers, weblog tool developers and weblog resellers. We will do this by opening it up more than it already is and ensure basic win-wins for everyone.

I'm really looking forward to building on Jason's great work. He's done an excellent job carving out a niche for the service and really giving his subscribers a great tool. His innovative and customer-centric philosophy will always guide our management of this nifty service moving forward.

And, if it appears that we might be straying away from this ideal, be sure to let me know.

And let me know too.

Jason DeFillippo, the man behind Blogrolling.com, writes:

The decision to sell the company was a very difficult one for me and after talking to several companies who were interested, I decided on Tucows because they are an extremely upstanding group of guys (they're Canadian, after all!) who will treat all of you with care and respect. They are going to continue running Blogrolling as is, which was one of my reasons to go with them. I trust them wholeheartedly and am happy it's going to be taken care of by these fine folks.
Thanks for choosing us, Jason. The trucks full of unmarked twenty-dollar bills, beer and nachos should be pulling up to your front door right now.

I'll bet if you ask AccordionGuy nicely, he'll post some nifty instructions describing how to make it work with Blogware ;)
And that I shall. Watch this space!
