Busy, busy, busy (or, More recommended reading)
…which means I can’t get some proper blogging done until later. However, there are a number of links I haven’t gotten around to posting. Unlike my usual practice, which is to provide a set of links that match the theme of a posting, these links have nothing to do with each other or some larger topic of discussion. Unless you count the fact that I’ve been sitting on these links.
- Fred the Clown. Nifty comics done in a 1940’s style, featuring Fred the hapless (and oftentimes witless) clown.
- Proposed Indian Names for Certain White People. “Fixes Paper Jams” sounds like my friend Ryan Murphy, I played once in a band with “Forgets To Take Meds”, and I dated “Thinks Of Self As Buddhist”, “Thinks of Self As Pagan” and “Only Thinks Of Self”.
- An interesting report on television addiction in the current issue of Scientific American.
- The Fading Altruism of Open Source Development. An interesting paper in First Monday that suggests that relative to the size of its developer pool, Open Source isn’t flourishing in the U.S. and moving to Europe because the opportunity cost is too high.
