Happy birthday, Dave Sifry!

It’s Dave “Technorati” Sifry’s birthday today! In honour of this event we should drink Cosmos!

(Get it? Cosmos? As in Technorati Link Cosmos? Oh, never mind…)

By the way, Blogware — the blogging tool used to create this fine blog and put out by my company — and Dave are working together to make sure that Technorati and Blogware fit like a hand in a glove. Watch for great stuff from us!

Congratulations, mamamusings!

The Good Professor Elizabeth “mamamusings” Lane Lawley reports that her proposed presentation for the 2004 O’Reilly Emerging Technology Conference has been accepted. Congratulations!

By the way, her presentation is titled Breaking Out of the Boys’ Club: How Diversifying Your Team Can Expand Your Market.

Now I need to get the company to sponsor me or scrounge up a free pass somehow (the con is very expensive)…

ThirtySexy: Your first warning

Mark it on your calendars: Saturday, November 8th, 2003.

My friend from Crazy Go Nuts University, Ashley Bristowe and I have the same birthday: November 5th. We’ve had three joint birthday parties before and we’re doing it again. It’ll be my 36th and Ashley’s I-don’t-know-whath. It will be held at my swanky house, and given the current situation, it will probably be the last party of mine held there.

My estimate is that at peak, we had 120 people in the house at my last birthday party. If you’re really looking to procrastinate at work, you’ll enjoy the series of photos taken at that bash.

It Happened to Me

Sold! Wait, not sold. Wait…

The sale of my house by my landlord has taken some strange twists. I got a call this weekend, saying that it had been bought. Followed by another call, saying that the buyers had backed out. Now, the buyers want a second look tomorrow morning. I’d just like to get it over with so that I know whether I need to begin the house hunt or not.

BloggerCon notes coming up soon

Today, as usual, is another busy day here at Tucows — I’m taking care of Blogware’s online documentation all afternoon (chek it often, as I’m updating it often). However, to whet your appetite, here are just a couple of photos of me and the Boss Man:

What not to let your kid wear for Hallowe’en this year

Photo: Mop-haired blonde kid in a purple faux fur pimp suit with zebra trim.

Meryle pointed this one out to me: Child Pimp Suits. I suppose you could also have your kid watch American Pimp to get the lingo right.

And don’t forget: you can make candy crack by putting miniature marshmallows into little plastic vials!
