Wow, they sure know how to make it difficult.
In my town (Wellington, New Zealand) you simply SMS the the parking meter and the cost of the parking is added to your bill at the end of the month (or deducted from your credit if you're on a pay-as-you-go plan).
Of course it costs an extra 50c on top of the parking charges for the privilege of paying by phone.
This is a good thing how?
a) you have to provide lots of private info to this company... including having them store your credit card info on file.
b) you get to pay a 50c surcharge each time you park
