Oh Yeah, the Parties’ Colour Schemes

One more thing: American readers who may be following the election

(possibly my in-laws) may experience the same colour dysphoria that we

Canadians have when looking at colour maps of state election results.

That’s because the “red” and “blue” parties are essentially reversed:

  • Blue is used to represent the Conservative Party
  • Red is used to represent the Liberal Party
  • Orange is used to represent the New Democratic Party
  • Green is used to represent the Green Party

  • Yay! Peggy Nash just got called for Parkdale High Park, beating Hollywood's own MP.

I have to think you had a small hand in this Joey. Congrats, and thanks!

  • Congrats, Joey on defeating Sam.

Don't forget light blue for the Block (in Quebec)

I'm not sure how to explain them to our American friends.

They all seem to wear big hats.

Also, you should mention that the best by date on minority governments is 18 to 24 months.
