I'm just gonna go out and buy a bottle.
I checked out an old cookbook from the '70s from the library called "Better than Store-Bought" (http://www.amazon.com/Better-Than-Store-Bought-Helen-Witty/dp/0060912871) which is full of interesting recipes like this.
One I'm really looking forward to making is vanilla extract which is extremely easy (Add vanilla bean to vodka. Wait.). Vanilla extract that you buy at the store is full of corn syrup and very expensive.
