In honour of this day, I’m sharing Rick Mercer’s latest rant from his show, The Rick Mercer Report, in which he tells us to “remember to remember”. As with many of his rants, it’s poignant, funny and right on the money.
I’ll be marking today with the traditional moment of silence at 11:00 a.m., a reference to the signing of the Armistice at “the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month”.
Have a good April Fools’ Day tomorrow, but be mindful about your pranking.

I've never seen Rick Mercer. This video rant is a dynamic and succinct reminder of remembering military heroes. One of the biggest factors in learning for children is parental aspiration. If parents/guardians aspire to have their children learn in school, learn to be good cooks, or learn to appreciate the military it goes a long way. Part B of that is to take action and demonstrate your appreciation, there are many ways like sending cookies to troops. http://pointeviven.blogspot.com/2011/09/deserves-cookie-adopt-hero-program.html
Ah, Rick Mercer. My hero.
