Today, the third Monday of February, is a statutory holiday that takes place in a number of Canadian provinces:
- In Manitoba, it’s Louis Riel Day (much to the chagrin of a certain Tory Member of Parliament);
- On Prince Edward Island, it’s Islander Day;
- and in Alberta, Saskatchewan and here in Ontario, it’s Family Day. In 2013, British Columbia will join the club of provinces that has Family Day.
To those of you who have the day off, enjoy! To the rest of you: get back to work!
