No joke: I saw the exact same thing at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver.
I think this says more about the type of people who (generally) use hotel gyms. I.E. - those who feel guilty for being on vacation, and do one of their two workouts of the year.
After which, what better to do than reward yourself with ice cream?
Can't blame the hotel for recognizing an optimal market.
