The quote actually comes from this book…
…and it’s not anything attributed to Siddartha Gautama. Instead, it’s from Buddha’s Little Instruction Book, penned by Jack Kornfeld, who’s taken Buddhist teachings and put them in the context of present-day life. If you log into Amazon, you can read the aphorisms within — many of them are pretty good — but they’re not lines from the Buddha (you’d think the modern phrasing would be a dead giveaway). The title seems to have confused some readers, though.
