Ford, TechCrunch, Yours Truly and What I Want From a Car in 2050

A few weeks back, I attended the TechCrunch Toronto Meetup that took place at the Steam Whistle Brewery. While there, I (and many other attendees) were asked to do quick interviews by Ford’s social media team to talk about what we’d like to see in cars in the year 2050.

The Ford team seemed quite amused with my answer, and I’m sure it played a part in my getting to drive around in a Ford C-MAX hybrid and go on a charity toy shopping spree on Tuesday.

Knowing that I would be in my 80s in 2050, I knew what I’d want in a car (asides from having it do the driving for me). I get the last word in Ford’s video, shown below, and if you’ll find it at the 2:00 mark. Enjoy!

  • Your voice is a lot different than I imagined it would be.

Brian Alkerton (01:00) nicely illustrates how fucked we all are with people such as he designing our collective future.

  • Homer Simpson designed a car in one episode, I guess it would be Grampa Simpson's turn now.
