It’s official: the official pie of the state of Texas is the pecan pie. It turns out that 20% of U.S. pecans come from Texas, even though many people — myself included — associate pecans with Georgia.

A classic for so many reasons, and a favourite forever. "Pecan piiiiiiiiieeeeee......" I still make that same face whenever I say that. :-)
My first thought at the pie pic was of that Imperial battleship at the beginning of STAR WARS, the one that came onto the screen and just kept going and going and going....
That sure doesn't look like a pecan pie. That's a chocolate pecan pie, a yankee thing. Real southerners don't each chocolate, they eat HFCS in the form of Karo syrup.
