When Calgary had their flood — whose effects were considerably greater than ours — their Mayor, Naheed Nenshi, did an admirable job handling it, and even managed to throw in a little humour:
And how did our Mayor do so far? Well, here’s what reporter Don Peat from the Toronto Sun, a paper that’s pro-Ford in a bloodyminded head-up-its-own-ass kind of way, tweeted:
Just spoke to Mayor Rob Ford, power is still out at his house. He's in the SUV with his kids trying to stay cool #TOpoli #stormTO

Totally unfit to be the Mayor ..... of even a 'small' town. Thank our lucky stars that their are intelligent people in charge of other important aspects of our city.
Related: who do we talk to at Twitter to get "reporter" removed from Peat's user name? Although I guess in some senses "Rob Ford is teh bestest" does count as a "report".
Taking care of your kids = bad mayor. Would people have rather he ride around on fire trucks rescuing kittens?
Leftwingnonsense: It was night and barely 21 or 22 degrees outside. Even with the humidity, it wouldn't have been unbearable or dangerous to stay in an un-air-conditioned house. Under such conditions, taking your kids into the car for air conditioning isn't taking care of them, it's overly pampering them, and that's not good parenting.
And....exactly how many hours did he let his oversized vehicle run while keeping cool, adding to HIS already large...... Footprint????
There is an anti idling law in this city.Clearly, he violated that. BTW The Mayor said he was home at 5 when it started. So he must have left work before 4:30. This is the same guy that Dougie says works 18 hours a day.
