More proof that “The Elf on the Shelf” is bad news

While my family celebrates Christmas, I’d never heard of this “Elf of the Shelf” thing until a couple of years ago. I’m chalking it up as just another weird WASP thing, like that cut-up celery suspended in green jello dish. The critical theory folks are having a field day about the Elf softening us up for a surveillance state, but as the photo above shows, that’s not the worst of it.
