Nothing says “FREEDOM” like forced patriotism and mandatory prayer

Yup, this really happened, and Penwell Knights Raceway in Odessa, Texas, does have a “stand for the anthem and prayer” policy.

  • Every time I visit the USA (and that is a trip becoming hard to justify), I'm always startled by the sheer number of "stars & stripes" flapping in front of people's homes. The display has always struck me as...strident. Desperately proclaiming to...I don't know who...that "I AM A LOYAL AMERICAN! SEE?!? SEE?!?"

Seeing this sort of Texas tyranny, I can only guess these folks are preemptively calming their neighbours from any ideas of forming a mob.
