If you’re looking for a house here in Accordion City and…
- You live alone or with one other person
- You don’t have much stuff
- You miss that cute little apartment you lived in while teaching English in Japan
…then this is the place for you!
This house, located near the intersection of Dufferin Street and Rogers Road is believed to be Toronto’s smallest house. Occupying what used to be a driveway, it’s a one-bedroom, one-bathroom house that sits on a parcel of land 7.25 feet (2.2 metres) wide and 113.67 feet (34.6 metres) long and has an interior area of just under 300 square feet (under 28 square metres). The asking price is $179,900.
Here’s another look at the front:
Here’s the living room, looking towards the front of the house:
Here’s the living room again, looking towards the back…
Here’s the kitchen. Note that despite the small space, they’ve managed to fit a washer and dryer into the place:
Here’s the bedroom. It comes with a Murphy bed, which is a necessity in such a space. This is what it looks like with the Murphy bed down:
…and here’s the bedroom with the Murphy bed retracted:
You also get some patio space out back. Here it is, looking towards the front of the house…
…and here it is looking towards the back:
Here are the house’s listed features:
- “Completely Re-Done Top-To-Bottom, Front-To-Back!”
- Tumbled stone entrance walk
- Renovated Bath
- Renovated kitchen with newer stove, new cabinets and new stacked washer/dryer
- Bedroom with Murphy bed + “Built-Ins” — doubles as den!
- Walk-out to fenced patio
- 100-amp service
- 2 satellite dishes and receiver
- “Window A/C Available”
If you’d like to know more, here’s its real estate listing, and here’s an entry about it in a local realtor’s blog.

Not bad, really. Spacious by NYC apartment standards. But seriously, 100 amp service?!
@Paul: I’ll give it a look. Thanks for the heads-up!

We’re used to living in miniature condos (OK, at least I am), so the size may be manageable. But why would you need TWO satellite dishes? ridiculous.
would like to see the bathroom and how big it is.
seriously…in manhattan that would be 5 and change. but it is real cute!!!
Nothing wrong with 100 amp service for this size of home. It is so cute. I too would like to know where the bathroom is. Good luck with the sale.
Nice dog run.
Dear Mr. Devilla,
Would it be possible to get a photo of the bathroom up on the site. I’m not the only one that would like to see!!!
Thanks
@Veronique: I’d love to help, but I didn’t take the photos; what you see here is all I’ve been able to find!
Love it, love it, love it!!!
is there a parking space close by ?
@shawn brush: It comes with a parking space in the back.
is there a refridgerator??
It’s in Canada. No refrigerator needed. Just use the igloo in the backyard 😉
I am curious it looks like there could be a small room upstairs judging from the pictures. Is there an attic space or a possible area to make another room in the upper level?
There is a website about the house and has the history as well as lots of pictures, including the “missing” bathroom.

Price has been reduced to $173,000 and has a current offer pending according to my research. It was for sale early last year at $139,000 prior to reno and sold to the current owner who is flipping it.

If you live with your dog only..haha

as far as R.E. goes – you can increase the value by improvements as high as the sky and as far deep as to the center of the earth ;>
Where is the bathroom? Why no pictures? Thanks!

cute, real cute….if i moved into a house like that with wife, we would be fighting everyday…fighting in close quarters like that is very bad.
it’s ridiculous that people have to live like mice in such a big rich country as Canada
they have two satellite dishes they only need a fourth of one. Its cute but why so big for a house so cheap my house is worth less and its a two story in California
that kitchen is bigger then mine…
awsome, I would love to live in the house.
I thought it was going to be really small, but it actually stretches pretty far. I would not mind living in it. But it would probably be ideal for a little person or people who are used to living in smaller spaces.
That is a good sized house for 1 person
I like this house very much.
